Everest Base Camp Trekking is undoubtedly the most popular trekking program. It is the best way to get closest to Everest if you aren’t prepared for an expedition to its peak. With an wide array of mountains, there are plenty of options for trekking in Nepal, however none other can beat the thrill of Everest Base Camp Trekking. Besides the utterly majestic views of the mountains, you will also get to mingle with the Sherpa people and learn their culture.

The Everest Base Camp Trekking begins at Lukla and ends at the base camp itself. The ascent should be steady and full of patience for proper acclimatization. On your way to the base camp, you will stop plenty of times to appreciate the beauty of the snow capped mountains and peaks that you will encounter. The Everest Base Camp Trekking includes fantastic views of the south west face of the colossal Mt. Everest from closest distance and other mountains: Lhotse (8510m), Nupse (7879m), Pumori (7145m), Lingtring (6695m), Amadablam (6814m), Thamserku (6723m), Kusumkagru (3370m) and so on. That’s why it is known as Everest Kalapatthar Trekking too.Being in the sunrise on the snow capped peaks of the Khumbu glacier or the view of the peak of Kala Patthar, the sheer splendor of the Everest range will lure you to no end.

Everest Base Camp Trekking - Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, Yuuki Trek’s representative will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel.  At the hotel you will be briefed about trekking Details.

Day 2:  Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) by flight (30 minutes), trek to Phakding (2610m) (3 to 4 hours)

Early morning, we take our flight to Lukla .After 40 minutes flight above the beautiful green hills and mountains; we reach Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. Lukla is famous tourist destination since it is the gateway of Mount Everest base camp. Upon the arrival in Lukla, we take breakfast before starting our trekking. Our trek starts from beautiful Lukla through villages such as Chhiplung (2700m.) and Mushe (2650m.). On the way, one can observe beautiful view of beautiful green hills. Overnight in phakding.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche (3440m)(6 to 7 hours)

After breakfast, we will continue our trek through pine forest. The trail continues along right bank of Dudh Koshi River. There, we get see the first glimpse of Mt. Thamserku (6618 m).  We continue the trail with many ups and downs through Bengar and Chumoa before crossing a stream to reach Monjo village. There is a small suspension bridge which is also the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park where we have to deposit a park entrance fee. Our trail continues through Jorsale village, the last village till Namche Bazaar. From there, trek continues until we reach confluence of the Dudh Koshi to the right and Bhote Koshi to the left.   From there, we continue our trek to Namche Bazar.  On the way, one can enjoy the magnificent views of Everest (8848m) and Lhotse (8516m.).

Day 4: Namche (Rest day)

After we reach our destination Namche bazar, we will take rest for a day. Namche bazaar is the gateway to the high Himalayas. Namche is the administrative center of the Khumbu region so there are police check post, a bank, government offices, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants and bakeries. One can view magnificent view of mt Kongde Ri(6,187 m) to west of Namche and  mt Thamserku (6,608m) to the east. Shyangboche Airstrip (3,750m) is situated in a hill over Namche Bazaar. We can walk up to the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter to enjoy the mouthwatering views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Tawche, Kwangde and other magnificent peaks and visit museum.  Overnight in Namche Bazar.

Day 5: Namche to Tengboche (3860m)(5 to 6 hours)

After breakfast, our trail continues to Tengboche enjoying the magnificent view of Ama Dablam (6812m), Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse (7855m) and Tawoche (6501m). We continue our trail through Kayangjuma and Sansa .After crossing prayer Flags Bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, we reach Phunki Thenga. From there, we trek uphill through the pine forests before finally reaching Tengboche. In Tengboche, one can enjoy the Beautiful sunrise view along with the stunning view of the mountains Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Tengboche Monastery, which is the largest monastry in the Khumbu region, is in Tengboche. Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m)(4 to 5 hours)

After Breakfast, our trail continues towards Dingboche descending through the rhododendron forest of Deboche. We enter Imjatse valley Crossing Imja Khola towards Minlinggo with closer view of Mt Ama Dablam. From there, trailing through uphill way will bring you to Dingboche.  Dingboche is also the gateway to Chukkum. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 7: Dingboche (Rest day or you may hike to Chukkum (4,730m)

Today will be the rest day before heading towards further trail. You can take full day rest relaxing in the warmth of the sun and enjoying view of mountains or you can hike up to Chhukum (4,730m) which 3-4 hour is walking from Dingboche.  Chhukum have few tea houses with the  magnificent view of Island peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Tawoche peak and others mountains.   Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 8:  Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m)(6 to 7 hours)

After breakfast, we start the trek through Khumbu Khola valley to reach Dhogla.  After taking lunch, our trail to Lobuche continues through the lap of the Khumbu glacier  On the trail, one can observe the magnificent view of Mt Thamserku, Mt Cholatse,Mt Pumori, Mt Nuptse and many others. The way of this trail is rugged and uphill. After leaving the Khumbu Glacier behind, We walk up to Lobuche.  Overnight at Lobuche.

Day 9:  Lobuche to Gorakshep (5140m) (3 hours) and (2 to 3 hours to EBC)

After breakfast, our trek to Everest Base camp continues through Gorakshep.  On the way, one can enjoy the closer view of   Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse etc .our trail progress through Khumbu glacier. Upon the arrival in Gorakshep, we take rest for lunch then our trail continues to Everest Base Camp. Beautiful view of mt Khumbuste and mt Pumori can be observed from Everest Base camp.  After visiting Everest Base camp, we trek back to Gorakshep. Overnight at Gorakshep.

Day 10:  Gorakshep  to Pheriche (4240m)(5 to 6 hours) via Kala Patthar.

Early morning, we hike up to Kalapathar for breathtaking sunrise view. It will take about 2 hours to reach view point from Gorakshep. Magnificent views of Mt. Everest,Mt Nuptse,Mt Pumori and Mt Ama Dablam can be seen  along with the entire Views of Khumbu Himalayan range from Kala pathar. After the sunrise view, we hike down to Gorakshep for breakfast. After having breakfast, our trek continues downhill to Periche. Overnight at Periche.

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche(6 to7 hours)

Early morning, our trek starts downhill back to Namche.  On the trail, we pass through the Deboche village and reach Tengboche. In Tengboche, we visit the oldest monastery. Our trail continues after downhill way through rhododendron forest leads to Dudh Koshi River. After crossing Dudh Koshi River, we reach Phinki Thenga. From there onwards, crossing several ups and downs through the villages like Khumjung and Khunde bring you to Namche . Overnight in Namche.

Day 12: Namche to Phakding(3 to 4 hours)

Early morning, our trek continues downhill back to Phakding through the same trail. The trail continues through the confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi to Sagarmatha National Park exit before reaching Monjo village. From there, trail is mostly flat until we reach Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.

Day 13: Phakding to Lukla

After breakfast, our trek to Lukla continues crossing village of Ghat. On the way, one can enjoy beautiful views of green hills and mountains.  After our arrival in Lukla, we will take rest and then visit the village.  Overnight in Lukla.

Day 14: Lukla to Kathmandu by flight

Early morning, we fly back to Kathmandu. After we arrive in Kathmandu, Yuuki’s representatives will escort you to hotel. Upon the arrival you can take rest and relax.

Day 15: Final Departure from Kathmandu

Yuuki’s representatives will transfer to international airport for your final departure.
