Ghorepani Dhampus Trekking is a popular trek in the Annapurna region. You can either fly or drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. As Pokhara is the gateway to Annapurna region, it has become the transit point for all types of trekking taking place in the region. Of course, it is transit point for Ghorepani Dhampus Trekking. You can also spend a day or two in Pokhara, sightseeing in and around the town and boating on the Phewa Lake before embarking starting Ghorepani Dhampus Trekking, as well as after trek there is free time to roam around Pokhara City.

Your trip starts at Pokhara’s Nayapul from where you trek to Tikhedhunga. From Tikhedhunga, you trek to Ghorepani which is at an altitude of 2775 meters. It generally takes about 5 hours to reach there. Your trek will then continue through Poon Hill, Tadapani, Ghandruk, Landruk and Dhampus. From Dhampus, you will trek to Suikhet that takes about 2 hours. Finally you take a bus from Suikhet to Pokhara and return to Kathmandu. This is how Ghorepani Dhampus Trekking concludes.

Ghorepani Dhampus Trekking - Itinerary

Day 01:   Kathmandu, Airport picks up and drops at hotel (7km drive)
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, yuuki Trek’s representative will receive you at the airport with your name card and escort you up to the Hotel. Rest of the day, Welcome drink with short briefing about trip and relax.

Day 02:  Drive to Pokhara by bus, 5 to 6 hours
Yuuki’s Trekking staff will come to your Hotel. Early drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (1070m) by bus/car. On the way to Pokhara, one can enjoy the local fish in Malekhu along with beautiful scenery of villages, mountains, green forest and Trisuli River. Pokhara is regarded as travel destination of Nepal with full of natural beauty. One can enjoy the spectacular view of Phewa Taal (lake), David’s falls, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges etc in Pokhara.

Day 03:  Drive to Naya Pul by car (1 hour) to begin trek. Arrive in Tikhedhunga (4 hours)
Early next morning, our private car will take us to Nayapul for about 1 hour driving from Pokhara. Hiking to Tikhedhunga begins from Nayapul alongside Modi Khola River through small villages of Birethanti and Sudame. The trekking continues with the uphill way through Hille exploring the natural beauty of Annapurna region until we reach Tikhedhunga( 1525m).  Overnight stay at guesthouse in TikheDhunga with breakfast and dinner included.

Day 04:  Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
After having breakfast, trek continues towards Ghorepani through uphill way with stone steps (about 3300 steps)) until we reach Ulleri. Ulleri is a magar village with hotels and lodges at 2070m.   Hiking through dense forest of rhododendron, oak trees uphill from Ulleri leads you to the village of Ghorepani. In Ghorepani, one can experience the majestic views, chipping birds, rhododendron forest, beautiful Gurung villages and many more. Ghorepani was originally a horse watering post, which has evolved into an important crossroads for tourists and the numerous mule caravans on the Jomsom-Pokhara trip.  Overnight stay at guesthouse in Ghorepani with breakfast and dinner included.

Day 5: Ghorepani Poonhill to Tadapani (2630m)(6 to 7 hours)
Early morning 4 ‘o’ clock, About 1 hour of Hiking from Ghorepani to Poonhill(3210m). Breathtaking view of sun rise along with view of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna can be seen from Poonhill. After sunrise view, half an hour walking downhill takes us back to Ghorepani. After breakfast, trek to Tadapani starts with the several ups & downs until Nangethanti for our lunch on the way to Tadapani. In Tadapani, there are 6 hotels and mountains can be seen from 4 of hotels among them. From Tadapani, one can enjoy the closer view of snowcapped mountain peaks like Annapurna south and fishtail. Overnight stay at guesthouse in Tadapani with breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 05: Tadapani – Ghandruk (1940m) – Landruk (1645 m) in 6h.
After having breakfast, comparatively shortest and easiest trekking of all days starts downhill through a forest towards Ghandruk. Ghandrunk is a beautiful Gurung village with its rich culture and tradition. Most of the male from this village are the members of brave Gorkha Armies of Britain and India. We continue our trek descending through the stone steps to the Modi Khola River through the village of Kyumi and then climb up the stone steps to Landruk. Stunning view of Ghandruk Village and Mt. Himchuli, Mt. Annapurna can be enjoyed from Landruk Village.

Day 06: Landruk – Dhampus (1750m) in 6h.
After breakfast, we take a pleasant walk through terraced paddy fields and villages of Tolka and Bichko Deurali. From there, we take uphill way to Landruk through rhododendron forest to village of Pothana. After taking lunch in Landruk, our trek continues to Dhampus. Dhampus is a small Gurung village with the excellent views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchre himal, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu himal. Dinner and overnight at Lodge in Dhampus.

Day 07: Dhampus – Phedi (2h trek) – Pokhara (bus)
Early morning, We start the trek descending through the terraced fields and forest to phedi. From there, it takes about an hour drive from Phedi to reach lakeside Pokhara.  In leisure time, you can visit the Pokhara lakeside. You can enjoy a swim, a boat ride, some shopping and the restaurant terraces on the shoreline.

Day 08: Pokhara – Kathmandu by bus.
Early morning, transfer to Pokhara tourist bus station and drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. Upon the arrival on Kathmandu, yuuki’s representatives will transfer you to the hotel.

Day 9: Final departure from Kathmandu (1345m)
yuuki’s representatives will transfer to international airport for your final departure.
