Gosaikunda Trekking take you to the classical pilgrimage route starting from Dhunche. Gosainkunda lake is a holy lake worshipped by Hindus and it is believed that a holy bath in the lake would cleanse one’s sins. The trek offers spectacular views of dense forests, waterfalls and streams.

There are several other lakes in the area such as Nagkunda, Bhairabkunda, Saraswatikunda and Surajkunda besides Gosainkunda. These holy lakes are visited by thousands of pilgrims every year especially during the month of August. The best way to reach Gosainkunda is by following a trail to the lake that starts at the Trishuli Valley. On your way, you will see the stunning mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang. You take the same trail on your way down until Chyolangpati when you turn towards the north to Thulo Syabru and finally to Syabrubeshi.

Gosaikunda Trekking - Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, yuuki Treks representative will receive you at the airport with your name card escorting up to the Hotel.
Rest of the day, Welcome drink with short briefing about trip and relax.

Day 2: Kathmandu to to Dhunche by bus (2030m)
Early morning, Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (2030 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot) which takes about eight hours. You stay overnight at hotel in Dhunche. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Dhunche passing through kalikasthan. While passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. On, you notice the trail, the road after Betrawati is still under construction.

Day 3: Dhunche to Shingumpa
Our trek starts ascending through the rhododendron forest and grass Lands to the narrow hilltop at Phoprang danda (3190m). From there; we continue our trail to Shingumpa.
In Shing Gompa, There are local yak cheese factories. The cheese manufactured in shing gompa is considered to be the best in Nepal. There is also a Buddhist Monastery in shing gompa.

Day 4: Shingumpa to Lauribinayak (3500m)
From Shingumpa, we start the trek through the uphill way to Lauribinayak.
Upon the arrival in Lauribinayak, one can enjoy the magnificent view of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh himal, Dhaulagiri and Langtang Lirung.

Day 5: Lauribinayak to Gosaikunda (4397m) (4 to 5 hours)
From Lauribinayak, our trek continues to Gosaikunda. After crossing a small ridge, one can experience first views of the holy lakes. There are many lakes in Gosaikunda. Saraswati Kund, Bhairav Kund, Gosaikunda, Dudh Kund (Milk Lake), Chandra kund (Moon Lake) and Ama Kund (Mother Lake) and Ragat Kund (blood kund) are some of them.  According to legend, Shiva created Gosainkunda when he pierced a glacier with his trident (trisul) to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison.
The large lake is Gosaikunda. Gosaikunda is sacred place of Hindus and Buddhist.

Day 6: Goshaikunda (Rest day)
On this day, we will take rest in Gosaikunda visiting around the Gosaikunda surroundings and Lakes exploring the local environments.

Day 7: Goshaikunda to Shing Gompa(4 to 5 hours)
Early morning, Our Trek continues from Gosaikunda to Shing Gompa (3250m) or Chandan Bari (3250m).The trail progress to Sing Gompa through Lauribanayak . We can observe the magnificent mountain views and forest along the trail. In Shing Gompa, There are local yak cheese factories. The cheese manufactured in shing gompa is considered to be the best in Nepal. There is also a Buddhist Monastery in shing gompa.

Day 8: Shing Gompa to Dhunche(6 to 7 hours)
Early morning, Our Trek starts from Shing Gompa to Dhunche.
The trail continues downhill through pine and rhododendrons forests to the suspension bridge over Shing gompa stream. After crossing the bridge over the Sing Gompa Stream, our trail begins to take flat way to Dhunche.

Day 9: Dhunche to Kathmandu (7 hours)
We take a local bus and drive back to Kathmandu from Dhunche through the same way. Upon the arrival in Kathmandu, You can rest for the remaining day.

Day 10: Final departure from Kathmandu (1345m)
yuuki’s representatives will transfer to international airport for your final departure.
