The Langtang Helambu trek passes through the Ganjala pass which is considered as one of the most difficult passes in Nepal. At an elevation of 5160 meters, the Ganjala Pass should be crossed as you travel south from the Langtang village where the headquarters of Langtang National Park are situated. You take a route from Gyang in Helambu and cross the pass which is mostly covered in snow. Therefore, you should be pre-informed on the weather conditions and carry good mountaineering equipments.

The village of Helambu speaks of Tibetan traditions. In the village, you will see stone walls boundaries around the fields and yak herds. From Tarke Gyang, we finally descend to Melamchi Khola from where we ascent towards Pati Bhyanjyang and finally descend to Sundarijal. The trip ends at Sundarijal from where we drive back to the capital. Being nearest to Kathmandu valley and relatively easier than the others, the Lagntang Helambu trek would be suitable for all kind of trekkers.

Langtang Helambu Trekking - Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
 Arrive Kathmandu Airport, Our office representative a waiting you in front of arrival lounge showing yours name Card, transfer to Hotel, we offer complimentary dinner at Hotel 7-8 pm, meet other participants to discuss about trip, Hotel B&B.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After BF, Explore Culture tour in Kathmandu, that is includes Boudhanath Stupa perhaps biggest in worlds, Monastery, Pashupatinath Temple, Hindu’s holiest temple and Patan Durbar Square and Swoyambunath Stupa situated on hillock of Kathmandu from entire Kathmandu Visible and amazing Stupa with its beautiful arts.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Dhunche  by bus
Early morning, Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1467 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot) which takes about eight hours. You stay overnight at hotel in Dhunche. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Dhunche. While passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills.

Day 04: Trek to syabru Gaun, ( 2100m/6hrs)
Today we trek through peaceful trail enjoying the beautiful views of Himalaya, Small Tamang Villages. Once it was busy when road connected to Syabru Bensi, trekkers did not use this trail any more. Starting from Dhunche would help for acclimatization instead getting quickly to Langtang.

Day 05: Trek Syabrugaun to Lama Hotel(2380m/5-6hrs)
Our trail descends along the ridge then drop to the river valley through terraced field and forest, and then the trail ascends gradually through river valley, offering views of waterfall and dense forest which leads us to Lama Hotel.

Day 6: Lama Hotel to Langtang (3455m) (5 to 6 hours)
Early morning, we continue our trail to langtang village through the rhododendron and pine forest. The trail is slowly up hill. On the way, Breathtaking views of mountains such as Langtang Lirung , Naya kang and some others peaks can be observed. You will have a pleasant walk passing through Gunachok, Thomna and then Ghoratabela where we will stop for lunch.
From there, we walk to Langtang village through Thyangsyap. Langtang is the beautiful village of Tamang peoples. Rest of the day, we can explore the Langtang village.

Day 7: Langtang to Kyangjing Gompa (3817m) (3 to 4 hours)
We start our trek gradually through small villages and yak pastures enjoying beautiful views of mountains.The trail is much easier to Kyangjing Gompa. We reach kyangjing gompa crossing small streams and moraines. From Kyangjing, Beautiful views of Mt Ganchempo, Mt Dorje Larpa (6990m.),mt Langtang Ri (6370m),mt Langtang Lirung (7245m.) and many more mountains are  visible.

Day 8: Kyangjing Gompa (Rest Day)
On this day, we will take rest in Kyanging Gompa.
You can visit Yak cheese Factory, Kyanjin Monastery, local village to explore the local lifestyle and culture of kyangjing gompa .You can walk up the moraine to see the spectacular view of Langtang glaciers Or climb to Tsego Ri (5150m).

Day 09: Trek to Langshisha Kharka
Today will be the adventurous day as we hike to Langshisha Kharka. On this trail, there are no lodges so you should pack your foods, water and necessary equipments. The trail continues through the flat landform with small streams and then passing a waterfall on the left and a hillock with a chorten and huts. The path continues alongside the bank of the Langtang Khola. After crossing the flat landform, the trail passes through rougher path to the hill with a large white prayer flag and yak herders’ huts, we reach a large boulder
After Crossing the stream from the Phrul Rangtsan Tsang glacier and then walking up the grassy slope beyond above the Langtang Khola , we reach Langshisha Kharka.

Day 10: Kyanjing Gompa to Ngegang(4000m.)
Today, we trek from Kanjin Gompa to Ngegang. After crossing the wide river valley, our trail steeply ascends through the rhododendron forest to reach Ngegang known as Ganja La Base Camp. Ngegang is suitable place for camping.

Day 11: Trek over Ganja La Pass 5106m, to Keldang (4270m/8-9hrs)
Today, our trail starts climbing steeply towards Ganja la pass. As we climb higher, we can see the outstanding trekking peak Naya Kanga (5846) m previously named Ganja La Chul opened by Nepal Mountaineering association to the west of pass .Beautiful view of Langtang Lirung and snow peaks in Tibet including Shisha Pangma (8013m) can be seen from the trail. Gyanjala pass is flanked by pinnacles and topped by prayer flags and large Rock. After crossing Ganja la pass ,the trail descend through the basin  to Yangri Khola (4400m)about two hundred meters and then drops quickly down rough slope .From there, we walk along the stream  through grassy land and  then we reach at Keldang (4270).

Day 12: Keldang trek to Dukpu 4040m.
Today will be the long day as we start to walk down along the ridge in the silent environment as there are no houses in this area. The trail has many ups and downs through the grasslands but it can be forgotten by magnificent views of Mountains. The trail takes down way above the riverbank then finally, we reach Dukpu after following the ridge line. Overnight at Tented camp in Dukpu.

Day 13: Dukpu trek to Tarky Gyang 2740m.
Early morning, Trail starts through the downhill way about 200mtrs and then climbing the 4100m pass. On the trail, one can enjoy the magnificent Views of Dorje Lakpa ,some part of Everest range .After crossing the pass,  trail descend  through pine and  rhododendron forest  to small settlement and then Gekye Gompa through the best view point of Helambu region, Ama yangri dada After crossing ama yangri dada, we reach Tarkey Gyang.

Day 14: Full day rest in Tarkey Gyang with exploring the village.
After continuous trekking, we will take full day rest in Tarkey Gyang, the largest Sherpa village in the Helambu region .You can explore the village and its surroundings and rest on this day .In Tarke Gyang, and you can experience the life style and culture of local Sherpa peoples.

Day 15: Tarkey Ghyang trek to Kakani dada 1996m. Overnight at Tented camp.
Early morning, our trek starts to kakani dada through the beautiful village of Ganyul, a Sherpa village. From Ganyul, the trail is downhill, after a while climbing starts through deep forest which leads to a crest and then large gompa at Chumnik. Our trail passes through the villages of Sermathang, Nigale, Gyalsha and then Raithani Gyang. One can see many chortens on this route. From there, trekking through   pine forest brings you to Kakani Dada, the last Sherpa village on the route.

Day 16: Kakanidada trek to Melamchi Pull Bazaar & Drive to kathmandu.
Early morning, we trek down to Melamchi bazzar through the beautiful village of Dubhachaur . Then after the crossing large suspension bridge above the Indrawati River, you reach  Malemchi Pul Bazaar. As soon as we reach Melamchi, we can take a local bus or private car   through Banepa & Dhulikhel highway to Kathmandu. About 3 hour’s driving from Melamchi bazzar brings you to Kathamandu and Rest for the remaining day.

Day 17: Final Departure from Kathmandu
yuuki’s  representatatives will transfer to international airport for your final departure.
